The Himalayan Shire

The owner and staff were warm and attentive, and the whole stay went smoothly. The place felt peaceful and comfortable, and it was well kept. The mountain views add so much charm. I’d happily return and recommend it for a relaxing break with lovely scenery and welcoming hospitality.

The Himalayan Shire was even better than I expected. The pictures don’t capture how amazing the views are. The owner and staff made us feel at home from check-in through checkout. It’s one of the few pet-friendly places around Shimla, with plenty of open space for pets, and my dog Bruno loved it. So much care has gone into the property, with something special in every nook. I’ll come back for the chef’s food too, I’ve never had anything like it. I also enjoyed playing table tennis and having a bonfire while I was there.

The balcony views were breathtaking, and I could have sat there for hours looking out over the mountains. Himalayan Shrine feels luxurious while still being homely, in the peaceful village setting of Fagu, Shimla. It’s beautifully designed, clean, and warm throughout. The food was delicious, service excellent, and the calm, cozy atmosphere left me feeling rejuvenated. One of my best stays in the hills. Highly recommend!

We loved the slow, quiet pace here, with sunshine and amazing food, far from Shimla’s traffic and chaos. Our pet had a great time, and the staff were caring and especially helpful with the pet’s needs. The rooms are spacious, warm, and cozy, and work well for a group.
