OYO 10883 Pema Thang Residency

We still haven't received the refund we were supposed to get for the trip. The room wasn't good, and the management was very poor. We had a bad experience with both the owner and manager. Owner Sauvik Saha made poor arrangements for the package trip, including arranging bad food and bad hotels. He tells you it's a very low budget deal, but don't fall for that, we suffered a lot during the trip.

The rooms go up to the fourth floor, but there's no lift. The TVs seem to be just for show since there's no cable, and there wasn't even a fan in humid weather. From my experience, the receptionist didn't know how to handle customers. The rooms aren't worth what they actually cost, not even a penny. Sorry for being rude, but a few friends and family members had the same treatment as I did. I wouldn't recommend the hotel. Check with your tour operator. Not worth even one star.

There was no backup power, and we went almost 36 hours without electricity. The manager wasn't helpful, and they charged too much for everything. Service was terrible, with just one person assigned to it who could hardly keep up. The room smelled bad, the walls were dirty, the bedsheet and pillow cover weren't clean, and the blanket had a hole in it and smelled awful. A very bad experience, hard to put into words. Don't go or recommend this hotel to anyone.

One staff member was polite and helpful, but the rest seemed highly incompetent for hospitality work. They first gave us a room, then kept pestering us to move our luggage to another one, without telling us in advance that we'd be shifted. I've visited Sikkim many times, and none of my stays have been as horrible as this. The hotel is nowhere near MG Marg. Getting there means a very steep uphill climb, and a taxi from MG Marg costs around Rs.200. A really bitter experience. Book at your own risk.
