Zostel Gokarna was a great place to unwind and enjoy nature. The beach view is beautiful, and the calm atmosphere made the trip more memorable. The property stayed clean, hygienic, and well maintained throughout our visit. Staff were friendly too. Both the cozy cottages and dorms were comfortable and worth staying in. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Gokarna who wants a peaceful stay near the beach.

The staff activities were a highlight, fun and well organised. Lohith especially stood out as friendly and energetic, and helped make the experience memorable. Food was good and satisfying, and the rooms were comfortable and well maintained. Bathrooms could be a little bigger, and we did have some hot water issues that could be improved. Getting to the property in a four-wheeler isn’t recommended because of the approach road. Still, we had a good stay at Zostel Gokarna, and I’d recommend it for the vibe and experience.

The location is excellent, and the property itself is great. It’s a good place to meet fellow travelers with similar interests and connect. The major drawback is the food at Mantra cafe inside the zostel property. It really sucks and is completely useless. There are many good cafes and restaurants nearby, though, so you can eat elsewhere.

We spent 3 days at Zostel and never had a boring moment. The team organises lots of activities on weekends. It’s secluded, but the setting overlooking beautiful Kudle Beach is one of the most scenic around. Mantra cafe’s food is just okay, with very limited variety. The location is also handy for Mahabaleshwar Temple and the market.

The dorms were clean, and the sea view from the splendid location was amazing. Mantra cafe is a beautiful place to sit and work. But it didn’t have the right feel for meeting people like me. Most guests come as groups, so it’s hard to get those OG backpacker hostel vibes.
