Hotel President

The location was good, and the staff were very accommodating. I couldn't find a vehicle to get to the railway station in the morning, but the staff and guard helped out and arranged an auto in no time.

Service is still good, but the hotel is in shambles now. It was one of the best in Gorakhpur two decades ago.

We had a decent stay in the Queen’s Suite. It had two rooms: a bedroom with a bed, TV, and attached bathroom, plus a small sitting area with a sofa, center table, and fridge. The bedroom AC worked fine, but the one in the sitting area didn't work during our visit. The hotel is around 30 years old, so it shows its age and can't really be compared with newer places. The owner has clearly tried to maintain it. It's a reasonable choice if you're comfortable with an older property and just need a basic, fairly comfortable stay, though service and communication need work. Breakfast was another problem. We ordered paneer paratha and tea, and it took nearly 95 minutes to arrive. Then only 10 minutes later, the manager abruptly told us we had 30 minutes to vacate the room. We hadn't been given any warning, and it felt unprofessional. We shared that feedback at reception.

The room was in poor shape, with dirty bedsheets, a bad smell in the bathroom, and a general lack of cleanliness. Staff were unprofessional and uncooperative, and seemed unconcerned about guest comfort. Room service was extremely poor too: they didn't respond even after several calls and ignored basic requests. For the price, the facilities and service were far below expectations. I had a very disappointing experience at Hotel President, Gorakhpur, and wouldn't recommend it.
