The breakfast buffet had a decent mix of Indian and continental food, and the staff were courteous and quick to help. The lobby’s cheerful decor and fresh lemony fragrance were a nice touch. My room was clean, well maintained, and designed for comfort. The gym and other amenities worked fine, though they weren’t extravagant. Lemon Tree Hotel, Udyog Vihar, Gurgaon is conveniently located for business travelers, with easy access to offices and the airport. In-room dining could be faster and offer more variety. It’s a reliable, good-value option for a short business stay, though more attention to service and food details would make it a five-star experience.

The cold shower this morning was bad enough, but the way the hotel handled it left me extremely disappointed and frustrated. I understand the gas cylinder shortage was caused by external factors, the war, and wasn’t their fault. Still, they hadn’t repaired the broken solar heater before this happened, and they knew about the shortage for 2-3 days but didn’t tell me before I checked in yesterday. Guest comfort should come before the fare for two nights. I won’t book here again, and I’ll think three times before considering another Lemon Tree hotel. When I left for work and complained about having no hot water, the reception guy promised it would be checked and fixed while I was away. If he knew the shortage caused the problem, that was a blatant lie. He should have told me that morning so I could have moved elsewhere tonight. Then, when I asked again after work, he said a technician had visited and confirmed hot water was available. How could that be true without gas cylinders for the heater? It’s ridiculous and not acceptable. I suggest people avoid booking this hotel at least until the Iran war is over and gas supply returns to normal. After that, take your chance with the customer service if you wish.

This was the strangest hotel stay I’ve had. They seemed to have only one room key and repeatedly wouldn’t give us access to it. We didn’t find out until after checking in, and it meant we couldn’t come and go without notifying staff or leaving someone in the room. Even getting the offered breakfast was awkward, since we’d have had to leave our luggage behind or check out first. I’ve never experienced anything like it. Staff avoided explaining the key situation and just said a colleague would let us in. Only after my partner called twice from the room to say how suspicious and unprofessional this felt did they claim there was just one key. Even if that was true, it’s no reason to leave us locked in or out. The evasive response made the whole thing feel creepier. It felt absurd and potentially prejudiced, like we were distrusted from the start. My partner had stayed with Lemon Tree before and was baffled too. If you stay in a hotel in Delhi and sometimes experience discrimination for any reason, I’d avoid this one in case you get treated in the same ridiculous way. It’s still hard to believe it happened. Crazy.

The Citrus cafe had limited choices at both breakfast and dinner, and food took a while to arrive. The property also felt very compact compared with other Lemon Tree properties.
