I’ve liked the idea of OYO Townhouse and used it in other places, so this was a real disappointment. At 6 PM the reception was nearly pitch black, with just one dim light in a corner. Even after asking several times, nobody turned the lights on. It felt dark, dingy, and unwelcoming. The lift wasn’t working, and after a long flight and two flights of stairs, the room didn’t help. Most of its lights were broken, so it was dark too. When I complained, they moved me to a ground-floor room, but its bathroom floor was dirty and the exhaust fan was broken and hanging down.

They gave me an unfinished room despite my prior booking, and had no alternative room available. There was a hole in the washroom, which they said they couldn’t fix straight away, so they expected me to shower like that. The shower was completely broken and no water came out. The tap was broken too. This place doesn’t feel safe.

My friends and I had a horrible stay. The lift didn’t work and a flower pot was being used to block it. There were only two lights in our room, and the mini fridge and electric kettle listed as basic amenities on the OYO app weren’t provided. The main door lock barely worked, we had to turn the key for minutes before it locked. The bathroom lock came off while I was inside, leaving me stuck for an hour until help came. Instead of helping, the receptionist questioned my friends about whether we had broken it. Staff management was chaotic too: it took two hours to fix the geyser, and all they needed to do was switch it on from the neighbouring room, where its switch was located.

The rooms were really good and breakfast was nice, but service wasn’t quite there. There were no towels in the room, the lift was out of order, and finding the place was difficult because there was no OYO sign on the building.

The one good thing was the hotel manager, who was helpful and polite. The rooms weren’t good, the shower handles didn’t work, and room service was bad. It’s too expensive for the standard they maintain.
