The staff were all friendly, and Mr. Simon and Mr. Hari were especially helpful with service and arranging transport to and from the temple. That was better than what we'd experienced at other hotels in Guruvayur. Though Sterling Guruvayur is a little way from the temple, the restaurant, service, and rooms more than made up for it. My first visit was a good experience, and I'll come again.

The check-in went smoothly, and the receptionist was friendly and explained the temple visit timings. That was the one good part of our stay. Our classic room was quite small, and the AC only pushed out air even with cool mode set to 17 degrees, so we used the fan all night. We also found cockroaches after turning the lights off. Breakfast was meant to be ready at 7:30 AM, but only one or two items were available then, and we had a train to catch. When we asked the next day about a taxi to the railway station, a different receptionist said there would be an extra 30% tax on top of the usual fare. I don't know what tax that was. We called the first taxi number that came up in a nearby search on Google, and they picked us up promptly.

The buffet was good value, and the staff were very friendly and gave personal service. The facility is well maintained, with the grand woodwork giving it the EVM group's distinctive, opulent style. It's not within walking distance of the temple, but autos are available around the clock.

The hotel is about 2 km from Guruvayoor temple, though Mammiyur Shiva temple is very close by. It's one of the more decent places to stay in Guruvayoor, and the food and service won't leave you disappointed.

The travel desk was very helpful, and the hospitality was good, with plenty of tasty food options. It's near the Shiva temple, and Chavakkad Beach is 5 km away. Nandhini milk Cafe is nearby too, a nice place for kids to enjoy ice creams.
