Dynasty Hotel

Breakfast ran from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM, but when I arrived at 9:30, almost everything was gone. I got one spoon of poha and an omelet, and nothing was refilled. The manager blamed a "group rush", but planning for that is the hotel's responsibility. Dinner was similar: I ordered at 9:00 PM and it came at 10:30, with the same excuse. It felt like individual guests didn't matter, as if we were staying for free. When I raised the problems and asked for a discount for the inconvenience, I got a foolish smile. The front desk also demanded full payment before handing over the room key, and when I questioned it, they casually said this was the "process followed countrywide." Very unprofessional and unwelcoming. This was by far my worst hotel experience. Disappointing service, poor management, and no accountability. Never coming back.

The rooms were tidy and the place had a nice feel. Miss Shikhna at reception was great at helping us out, including pointing us toward places to visit in Assam. Thanks, Ms. Shikhna.

The front desk team were courteous and genuinely helpful, and the hotel was clean and quiet. My first room had twin beds and a very basic bathroom; after I moved to a queen room, the WC was much better. The rooms were bright, the aircon worked well, and the rain shower was good. There’s a breakfast room on the ground floor and an Indian restaurant on the second. It’s in the market area, so you get city views, and the Brahmaputra River is within walking distance. There are steps at the entrance, and the vintage car shown in the photo wasn’t there. Still, I had a pleasant stay.

The mosquitoes at night made the room uncomfortable, and the air conditioner didn’t cool properly. The washroom ventilation did work. Although the hotel is only about a kilometer from Guwahati station, getting around was slow because the mid-market area stays very congested throughout the day. For the tariff, the stay fell short of what I expected, and I wouldn’t recommend it to visitors going to Maa Kamakhya Temple. The Google review that led me to book this property was totally fake. Highly disappointed.
