Right in the center of town, with malls, hospitals, shops, restaurants, buses, and taxis all easy to get to. The staff and owner are cheerful and friendly, and if you need something, just ask. They’re happy to help however they can. It feels like home, with a spacious lounge, TVs, good amenities, and a nice breakfast. The hotel is done up nicely, but still has that homestay feel. I’d stay here again.

Construction was going on, there was no kitchen, and the place didn't feel hygienic. It was always very noisy, so I couldn't sleep. Now the owner keeps calling and asking me to improve my rating. He said he would make my bill up to the 24th. Such poor service. In future, I won't book a hotel through Oyo. MakeMyTrip is better.

We’re from Austin, Texas, and think we know good hospitality. Kaushik showed us that the North East states of India, especially Assam, can lead the world in it. The beds and showers were the best, and we slept in dreamy comfort. Thanks, Homestay Downtown, for making Guwahati feel like a piece of paradise!

Coming from Canada, I was surprised to find such an affordable gem so near downtown. The staff made me feel completely comfortable, and now I feel like I have a home in Assam. I can see why they call it a homestay instead of a hotel, and I’m looking forward to coming back to downtown homestay.

The rooms are spacious, the staff are courteous, and the place has a homely feel. But the bathrooms are extremely tiny, there's very little open space, and big cars won't fit in the parking area. Breakfast came from roadside stalls and didn't seem hygienic. The photo attached to the review showed puri/Sabji worth ₹15 from a nearby stall beside a footpath. Unmarried couples aren't allowed either.
