Jiya Mansion

It used to be a great hotel, but now it feels close to falling apart. The food is terrible too: the roti was so hard I couldn't chew it. Inside, the place is very dirty, the rooms are old, and they smell awful. It needs a serious clean and renovation.

The rooms are spacious and well kept, with nice showers. Breakfast is served buffet style and is acceptable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The night shift managed my check-in despite the language barrier.

People outside the rooms shouted even around midnight, and when I told reception, they did nothing. There was a smell of smoke and cigarette butts outside every room. The rooms were dirty, the towels and sheets poorly cleaned, and I had to ask the cleaning team several times before they actually cleaned. The place may be renovating or doing something similar, but it isn't suitable for OYO status and should be rated as a 2-star hotel. The AC wasn't cooling because it had no gas, and the mechanic came twice without figuring out the problem. The switch and cooling were major issues too. I wouldn't recommend staying until the place is fully renovated.

I stayed for a whole week and had a very good experience. The reception was fantastic, and the employees were always smiling and ready to help. The rooms were good, and all the facilities were available and working. It's an affordable place to stay in Guwahati.
