Landmark Hotel

Food was comparatively better, but the stay in room #2014 was horrible. The room had no toiletries, no Wi-Fi or intercom, and the toilet flush didn't work properly. There was no hot water, mosquitoes filled the room, and only one plug point worked. No complimentary coffee pouch either. I'd call this a 'Baakwash' hotel.

I wouldn't recommend booking a room online. My deluxe room was in bad shape and very dirty. The AC was separate and in really poor condition, the TV wasn't fixed, and the bathroom smelled bad. Empty shampoo pouches had been left on the sink, and the bed was very hard and in bad condition. A very bad experience.

The location is the one good thing about Landmark Hotel in Guwahati. The place felt run-down and almost haunted, and it was frightening to find that we were the only guests in the whole hotel. There are 49 rooms, but just us as a couple were staying there. We had planned to spend two days but left after one night. The elevators are outdated, service was poor, and breakfast wasn't good enough. Even budget hotels serve a better breakfast. What the website showed didn't match what we found: the old building needs a full renovation and maintenance is poor. The hotel has lost its former charm. If you're thinking of booking, read the reviews and be cautious. Apart from the location, it felt like the place was in shambles.

The staff at the front desk, Cafe, and housekeeping made an extra effort to keep the stay comfortable, and the service was decent. The food cost a little more, but the taste and portion size made it worthwhile. The hotel is central and used to be a top destination, though now it looks somewhat worn and could use an infrastructure upgrade. I was close to rating it average. One tip: don't choose the cheapest online option. It's better to contact the team offline and ask about the options.
