OYO 63144 Highland Manor

The room wasn't cleaned properly. There were stains on the bed, the wall was in poor condition, and the washroom was leaking. Horrible experience. Please, I beg everyone, don't stay there.

I stayed there for two days, 18/19 February 2025, with my wife and little son. The property itself is good, but a staff boy named Hrishikesh behaved horribly. He disturbed us at night, shouting unnecessarily late and using slang words. I can't believe how he acted. This hotel isn't for families. Owner, please look into this.

The outside of Mr Highland Manor looks great, and it's in a fresh, perfect location, but my stay was really, really bad. I eventually moved to another hotel for the rest of my time in Guwahati. I never interacted with the owner, so I can't say how he is, but he really needs to look into the management, especially the staff. The two staff members there knew nothing about hospitality. Check-in was erratic. The receptionist insisted I pay into their personal account instead of through the Oyo app, and got irritated when I refused. They also tried raising the room price, then gave me a tiny, dingy room different from the one in my booking details. The staff never helped with luggage. Although they said food would be served, none came despite several enquiries, so I had to order very late at night. After several requests, I eventually got a very late, very bad cup of tea. The sheets were extremely dirty, the cleaning lady only came when you checked out, and the toilet seat was broken.

I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. It was a quiet, spacious place with civil staff, good food, and reasonably priced rooms. During my visit, which was Valentine week, I didn't notice the usual OYO customers, so I felt it was suitable for families. There are only 8 rooms, so it can't host more than 8 families. In room 103, the bathroom and toilet floor were higher than the bedroom floor. If the drain gets blocked, which can happen because of hair, water flows into the main room. The water supply also ran out on my first morning because the water truck was late. Overall, a good place.
