Sangam Grand By OYO Rooms

I had a prepaid room booked through OYO, but when I arrived the manager refused to check me in. He said there was a maintenance issue and that they'd already told OYO, blaming them for the mess. He suggested I ask OYO to move my booking elsewhere. Then I watched him check in another tourist who had just arrived. When I asked why I was being turned away but that guest wasn't, he said he wouldn't accept prepaid OYO bookings because OYO didn't settle its dues on time. He said he could check me in if I bypassed OYO and booked directly with him. I was stuck dealing with this. OYO couldn't fix it for three hours, even after I spoke with five customer care executives. Worn out by the awful service, I cancelled and had to find another hotel at twice the price.

The experience was nice overall, and the rooms were good, just like in the OYO photos. The bathroom was especially clean. Getting there takes a little figuring out: go down a small alley, then take the old fashioned lift to the fourth floor. The second and third floors don't have rooms or buildings, so don't use the stairs. Booking through OYO and paying beforehand gets you a discount.

There's no safe or extra parking, the TV wasn't working that day, and the bathroom exhaust fan didn't work either. There also wasn't a nearby store for food or useful things. Still, the rooms were quiet and clean, and the service was good with no disturbances. The bedcover seemed old and wasn't very nice. The OYO rooms are on the fourth floor, with a lift right in front of reception. I don't know whether they have food, since I ordered from zomato.

The property is in a nice spot in the middle of the city, and the staff are helpful, even offering all out for the mosquitoes in the rooms. The entrance makes a horrible first impression, but the rooms are decent once you're inside. They lack ventilation, though, and while there's AC, there was no remote in the room. The TV was installed but didn't work.
