Hotel Shelter

Mrs Raniji helped us get a somewhat better room, and it's only because of her that we stayed for two days. We checked out a day early. We'd booked a room for two on Agoda, but the first room had a lot of seepage and smelled bad. The front desk deliberately assigned it to us. The front desk was pathetic, full of ego, and loved to argue instead of helping. The hotel was shabby and not good for families. Parking was in a dusty, under-construction area. Breakfast was chai plus either one paratha or poha, and refills cost extra. The lobby smelled strongly of smoke, and we heard a lot of noise from the next room at 2 am. We couldn't sleep, but there was no point complaining because the front desk and reception people were useless. They didn't help carry our luggage or even tell us how to get to the room. Toiletries weren't provided, and the bathroom tap and shower were leaking. This was one of the worst hotels I've stayed at by mistake. I was too depressed to take photos.

The staff were polite, but the room quality was a huge disappointment, especially for the price. Cleanliness was poor, with stained bedsheets and a bathroom that hadn't been cleaned properly. They didn't provide a water bottle, and the food wasn't good either. Worst stay experience ever.

The outside looks good, but don't let that fool you. This was a very unhygienic hotel. The linens and pillows were awful, the room smelled bad and hadn't even been mopped, and there were no bathroom essentials, not even soap. The two glasses for drinking water hadn't been washed. The shower didn't work, and the ceiling was coming off. We spent the night worrying it might collapse on us. This hotel badly needs a safety check. If you value your life, avoid it.

The location was the one thing I liked, and the receptionist helped me while I dealt with a miserable stay. In the extreme heat there weren't rooms with proper AC. I changed rooms 3-4 times before finally getting one where the AC worked, and the room itself was still pathetic. The jet was loose and kept making the floor wet. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here.
