For the same price, I’d suggest looking at a hotel, though this is still the best option here. It’s affordable, the rooms are nice, and you can walk to the Railway Station. There are several Gujarati Restaurants nearby. Just be aware of the restrictions: you can’t enter after 10 pm, and hot water is only available from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.

At first the staff were supportive. After that, both choices seemed to come with poor service and bad responses: pay more for a better room, or less for a bad room. I’d stay 6-7 km from the main bazaar and travel here by electric vehicle for 10-15 Rupees.

When I phoned Gujarat Dharamshala, Haridwar, they told me rooms were available. But once I arrived and spoke in Hindi with the receptionist about payment, he said there were no rooms. I found the staff member very rude, and that attitude from the admin staff says a lot about their view of equality. Given the receptionist’s age, I expected more maturity. Please grow up.

Rooms start at ₹250 each. They’re cheap and suitable for a family, with a TV, a bed that fits three people, a metal cupboard, and an attached toilet. Warm water is available in the morning, and blankets are provided in winter.
