Leo Wooden Resort

The view and staff made the stay great, and the food was really good. We ate here for three meals and liked nearly everything. The white sauce mushroom pasta could have used a little more salt. Fries, mushroom and manchurian, chicken kebab and cutlet, dal tadka, jeera rice, chicken noodles, Palak paneer, paneer paper, masala papad, egg masala, and sweet and salty lemon soda were all very good. For breakfast we had mushroom and cheese omelette, aloo paratha, and puri bhaji, which were decent. Do allow some time for the food. The staff are doing their best, but service may be slower in the off season when there are fewer of them. Come a bit early, place your order, and enjoy the view while you wait.

The cabins have the basic amenities and are well built, though they're not luxurious. The river views are lovely and only a short walk away, and sitting outside to enjoy the scenery is one of the best parts. From the main road, it's about a 2.5kms drive to get here, but I think the views make it worthwhile. We saw several kinds of birds and monkeys, and even a crocodile in its natural habitat. We had a water heater problem, which was fixed quickly after we told Manager Navin. Kitchen service times and staff courtesy could be better, though it wasn't too bothersome once we adjusted our expectations.

The location is very good, but my stay at this resort was disappointing. The property seemed poorly maintained despite its positive online ratings, and the shortage of staff showed. Even hand wash was missing from our room. We had power cuts at least 20 times over 10-12 hours, which made things very inconvenient. There was no watchman or other staff at the entrance, and often nobody seemed available to help or manage the guests. The pool was also very dirty, unlike in the photos that were sent. It may have been excellent when it first opened, but it seems to have declined over time. With the current condition, I don't think it's worth the price, despite the good Google ratings. I wouldn't recommend the room we were given. Some rooms near the lake might be better, though I don't know if they cost differently. The stay didn't meet expectations, and I'd suggest looking elsewhere unless the property improves.

The resort is in a good spot next to the river, and if you're lucky you may see crocodiles. The rooms are spacious, the bathroom was clean, and check-in was quick. Food at the attached restaurant was tasty, but overpriced, and service was a bit slow. The resort itself also charges too much on long weekends, and doesn't include breakfast even at that price. Starting at 8 am, the cleaning staff kept reminding us about checkout time. I'd have rated it 5 if prices didn't jump on long weekends and breakfast were included.
