i-ROOMZ Samrat Ashok

From the spacious lounge, where there’s a very good collection of books, it’s a short walk to restaurants, shops, and other things you need. Hotel Samrat Ashok is very conveniently located in Hubli, with spacious rooms and the amenities you’d expect for this category. It also has conference rooms for meetings and family gatherings. I checked in here on day 612 of my solo motorcycle trip around India. My room was clean and well kept, and the toilet and bathroom were neat. The staff were friendly and polite, and owner Mr Srikant Innange was around most of the time, making sure everything was in order. He looked after me and my needs throughout my stay. A new lift and wheelchair-friendly facilities make this place stand out. I’d recommend it for solo travelers, families, meetings, or gatherings in Hubli. Five stars.

It’s very close to all the business areas, and sits right on the main road. The building is very old, though, and traffic makes it noisy.

I’ve stayed here several times, but the same issue keeps happening. They don’t provide hot water, even in winter, which is really frustrating. Staff support isn’t as good as it used to be. I won’t be coming back.

The hotel needs improvement. It should have electricity and hot water available around the clock.
