Chamba Camp Diskit by TUTC

The service was what made TUTC's Chamba Camp Diskit stand out. Camp manager Dorje welcomed us warmly, and the chef, butler, servers, and other staff all took great care of us. Our plans changed at the last minute: we were meant to arrive a day earlier for 2 nights, but stayed just one night instead. Chamba Camp Diskit and Chamba Camp Thiksey handled the change smoothly, and I'm grateful for their help. We were celebrating my wife's birthday, so before we arrived I asked about having a private dinner. They set up a beautiful gazebo by a crackling fire, with mountain views and a starry sky. The food was great, and Dorje and the staff made her feel special. At the end, everyone came out with a freshly baked cake to wish her. Back in our tent, we found balloons, flower petals, and towel art. Such thoughtful touches. Our Luxury Suite tent was comfortable and had modern amenities, including air conditioning, heating, power sockets, and WIFI, while still feeling rustic and close to nature. From the tent we could see Diskit Monastery and the Maitreya Buddha statue, with Nubra Valley behind them. Hunder sand dunes were only about 15min away. The food selection included Western, Thai, and Indian, and the chef carefully catered to our likes. We spent 1 night there in July 2025 and wished it had been longer. One of our best stays anywhere, and we'd highly recommend Chamba Camp Diskit and TUTC overall.

The owner is very sweet, and the location is awesome. From here you can see the monestry and the Buddha statue. Rooms are clean, and you get hot water 24x7. Food may need some adjusting if you eat in house. It's a budget friendly stay for a group, and a very nice guest house overall.

The scenery from the top of the mountains was the one good point, but reaching the camp was awful, with a very bad access road. The camp and its facilities were poorly maintained. There was no butler, the food wasn't good, and although the camp was mostly empty, no one came to attend to us. A terrible experience, and absolutely zero value for money.

I'm a lady guide from leh with 4 years of experience, and I've never felt as inferior as I did at this camp. I had guests in 5 of the 11 rooms, so around 50% of the rooms, for 2 nights, but they still wouldn't provide accommodation for me. They had space for boys, but apparently girls can't sleep in a car lol. I've been accommodated specially by the best hotels like stonehedge and grand dragons. After visiting 90% of properties leh, this is the worst experience I've had. I recommend female guides don't go there, because they may be left to sleep in a car.
