9 Star Guest House by OYO Rooms

For the price, 399 a day for two people, it can work if all you need is a place to sleep for one night with a friend. It's not a luxury stay, and you'd rather spend your money on entertainment like movies or food and drinks. The room is cheap and easy to find on the roadside. The geyser worked, there's good bike parking, and a car can be parked outside without anyone objecting. Water and power were reliable, the ceiling fan worked well, and the bed was clean even though the floor was a bit dusty. You can do what you like in your room as long as you don't disturb others. There are some real drawbacks: the room is cramped, dusty, and has no Wi-Fi, phone, AC, or food service, so you have to order from outside. There are no luggage racks, and although there's a small wardrobe, you can't open its door because the bed is too close. The guesthouse staff keep to themselves and don't ask if you need anything.

The non-AC rooms are very small and cramped. Don't book through OYO, it's a scam. They offer rooms at half price, then once you arrive say the booking is canceled and offer a room only at double the rate.

This seems to be an old hostel turned into a guesthouse, not a proper hotel. The blankets were dirty, possibly left unwashed after hostel guests used them. There was no hygiene, the washroom was dirty, water was leaking around the room, and there was barely any water.

I'm a hotelier, and this was one of the worst OYO stays I've seen. The staff weren't polite, there was no water, and the room and washroom were dirty. The room photos on the OYO website were fake. I felt defrauded.
