Hotel Chutneys

I was very unhappy with this stay. After nearly ten hours on the road from Bengaluru to Hyderabad, I reached Hotel Chutneys at about 10 am, an hour before my 11 am check-in for a two-day Executive Suite booking. I politely asked the receptionist, Mr. Naresh, to alert my room, mentioning the express check-in. He kept rudely insisting I return at 11, with no understanding of how tired I was. I urgently needed a restroom and asked to use the washroom, but he told me to go outside and said they had no such facilities. I then asked if he could hold my luggage while I went out and came back later. He refused that too. I went to the manager, Mr. Srikant, expecting a better response, but he behaved the same way. There was no empathy, basic courtesy or customer service. It was especially disappointing after such a long trip and when staying in an Executive Suite. Management should train staff in basic hospitality and dealing with guests.

Staff at this Chutneys location spoke very rudely and showed little basic courtesy. They seemed unprofessional and didn’t consider the comfort of elderly guests. I’ve been to the Hitech City and Banjara Hills branches, where the experience was much better. This was one of my worst visits to Chutneys.

The service was friendly and attentive during our relaxed vegetarian meal at Chutneys in L. B. Nagar. There’s a broad choice of South and North Indian food, and the Rawa dosa, Mysore Masala dosa and Plain Dosa were all tasty. A good experience for veg food.

We raised the issue with the Ashok manager, who said he’d look into it, but he never came back to our table. The service was disappointing from the start: the main course arrived before the appetizers, which disrupted the meal and made it clear the staff lacked basic knowledge of food service. Overall, the poor service made for a bad experience.
