OYO 28743 Golconda Inn

Since I checked in this morning, the water has stopped while I was bathing, and the toilet flush doesn’t work. I told the hotel staff, but nothing was done. They refill water in bottles for use, which feels like a very cheap standard of service. I’ve stayed at more than 20 hotels in Hyderabad, and this has been the worst. I wouldn’t recommend it. If OYO keeps approving properties like this, I think it could be out of business in a couple of years.

We booked 8 rooms on 24 Aug 19 for my friend’s engagement, and every room had very low water pressure. There was no backup supply from a bore well or government water, so at the time of the function, and again late at night and early in the morning, not a single bathroom had water. My guests had to use 1 litre bottles to wash their faces and get ready, and we were already 2 hours late because of this. The hotel staff made no alternative arrangements and didn’t seem prepared to arrange water in advance, even if they relied on a tanker. Water is a basic need for a hotel. The corridors smelled bad, and the stairs, lift, and other areas outside the rooms were dirty. The bathrooms weren’t maintained either. I’ll never recommend this place, and I hope OYO ends its agreement with hotels like this to protect its ratings.

For the price, it’s a good place to stay. The rooms are good, and both upkeep and staff response were good too. The bathrooms are small, though.

The rooms are spacious, but they aren’t maintained well. The geyser didn’t work, cleaning wasn’t proper, and the staff didn’t take responsibility. Customer service needs better management.
