Taj Banjara

Breakfast was good, and the team there was warm and helpful. The bar was also a bright spot: it’s nicely set up, and the bartender was friendly and helped me settle in. The rest of the stay was one problem after another, making this one of my poorest Taj experiences. My first room had a constant AC hum, and it seemed no one had checked it. After a lot of discussion, I was moved, but the room issues continued. Food and drink timings were confusing, and requests seemed to get the opposite response. I eventually raised it with the duty manager at night, and got warm food after that. The room menu even had handwritten notes from guests. It felt like staff weren’t following the usual procedures at this property.

Everything was kept very clean, from the lobby and restaurant to the restrooms, and the Wi-Fi and general atmosphere were good too. The hotel was really good value, with a great price. It had the sort of high-class features you’d expect from a five-star place, and the complimentary food was delicious.

I’d rate it 4.5 out of 5. A couple of things could be improved. There’s plenty of open land, but no children’s play area, even though the property has a pool, lawn, and outdoor auditorium. Also, the booking sites don’t clearly say that nylon clothing is required for the pool, at least not anywhere I could see, and there’s no rental option. We were on a spiritual trip and hadn’t brought swimsuits, so it would help if guests could rent suitable clothes. Management should consider that.

There’s a little garden behind the hotel for kids, with a few ducks, and the pool is clean and well maintained. The rooms are tidy, the staff are friendly, and the food is tasty. The central location makes the hotel easy to reach and convenient for getting around the city. The pond opposite gives off a really bad smell, so it’s hard to sit outside in peace. The property is also on a busy road, and crossing is difficult because there’s no signal. Still, it’s a good place for a family stay.
