The staff were the clear bright spot at Aceotel Select Tulsi Vijay Nagar, Indore. They were polite and professional, and did their best to help. The rest of the stay was below expectations for a hotel calling itself a luxury boutique stay. Getting around was inconvenient because it’s far from the railway station, major temples, and most of Indore’s historical sites. Breakfast choices were very limited, and the bathroom had water logging that made it uncomfortable to use. They also gave us a small chocolate box type container for bathing items, which felt odd and out of keeping with the luxury claim. After one night, I felt the facilities and experience needed serious upgrades to justify the branding and price.

The staff and even the owner were extremely rude and unprofessional, speaking like goons. When our child became sick in the night and vomited on the bed, we called right away to ask for fresh bedding and to have the soiled bedding taken out. We were told housekeeping would deal with it in the morning. The child was still unwell the next morning, so we asked to extend our room until evening, but were told the hotel was full and had to check out. We booked a nearby property that belonged to the same owner. Around 5 pm, the hotel called and accused us of hiding that our child had vomited on the bed, which we hadn’t. They threatened us, saying they wouldn’t let us check out, that they had contacts, and that we were tourists. We were willing to pay for dry cleaning, but they demanded 10k. After hours of arguing, we paid 2k. If they’d dealt with the bedding overnight or in the morning, the stains would have come out easily in the wash. Instead, they waited 15 hours before addressing it and tried to squeeze money from us. Horrible experience!

Every room’s bathroom had an issue: the toilet seat wasn’t fixed properly, and when we raised it, staff said it was fine as it was. They said parking was available, but it was actually on the outside road, with cars squeezed in by the footpath and service road. I paid almost 7k for two nights. After checking out, I paid 140 for extra water and tea and left. Then a staff member ran to my car, asking me to pay again because it wasn’t in his statement. I showed him a screenshot of the payment. Thirty minutes later he called again, still asking me to pay. I said I’d check my statement and pay if the transaction hadn’t gone through, but I was driving and couldn’t check then. He kept demanding immediate payment as if I’d stolen 140, and warned me to pay within an hour. I checked the next day and the original payment had succeeded. He didn’t understand how banking and UPI payments work and harassed me over it.

The check-in was smooth, the staff were polite, and the rooms were clean with comfortable beds. But our family’s three rooms had several problems. In one room the AC didn’t work, and in ours the landline was out, so we had to go to reception or use the room next door, booked by my uncle and aunt. We’d told them in advance that we’d arrive at 6 pm and asked them to have the rooms ready, but none had towels. They said the laundry van was delayed, even though check-in time was in the morning. The bathroom smelled, and the commode was stained. We left the key for housekeeping while we went sightseeing, asking them to clean the toilet and bring towels. When we returned, there were still no towels and the toilet looked and smelled the same. After I went down to reception, they sent someone with towels and said the stains couldn’t be cleaned any further, maybe because of cheap cleaning products or old fixtures. They only sprayed room freshener. Staff checked the landline, but it couldn’t be fixed right away. We had to request basic items like towels, a doormat, and toilet paper. The shower was directly overhead, so the flimsy shower cap they provided was useless for women with long hair. They gave us a bucket but no mug. We asked again the next day before one was provided. We’d booked AC deluxe rooms for three adults, but there wasn’t enough space for an extra mattress. The extra mattress smelled musty and wasn’t comfortable.

Aceotel Select Tulsi is a clean, modern boutique hotel with a cozy but premium feel. It’s in an accessible, safe part of Vijay Nagar, Indore, near the main areas, so shopping, dining, and transport are easy to reach. The rooms are clean, and the bathroom and service were good too. We traveled from here with friends to Omkareshwar and Ujjain. While in Indore, we visited the Khajrana Ganesh Temple and did some shopping. It seems well suited to short trips, business stays, or families looking for a reliable place.
