Kanchan Tilak

We got a good deal, and the staff were polite and helpful. They even let us use the room before check-in. Breakfast tasted good, and the hotel is next to Chhappan, with rickshaws easy to find. I'd recommend it.

Getting to the main market is easy, but the reception staff were awful. They didn't even show basic courtesy or welcome us. Because we'd booked online instead of through their own platform, they gave us what seemed to be their worst room. When we raised the issue, they even refused to give us basic drinking water. I hope the hotel's higher management reviews how the receptionist, someone Mr. Mahendra R., treated us.

The location is superb, and I heard renovations are underway, so hopefully things will be better next time. When I stayed, the room was clean but old and in poor condition. The bedsheets were clean but torn, the sofa was old and creaky, and the door had no proper inside lock, just one desi latch at the top. One cabinet had a geyser installed and was covered by a wooden plank. I missed taking a video, otherwise I would've shared it.

The room had been renovated and was fine, and housekeeping and room service were decent. The noise was the real problem: the third floor was under construction, with work from 10am until midnight. They were cutting marble tiles at 1am. When we told reception, the staff hung up on us. Both the morning and evening reception staff were very rude and angry. It's shocking that management puts them at the desk to check guests in. Stay at your own risk.
