OYO 5253 Hotel Orange Lily

The online photos make this place look better than it is. The rooms are untidy, the staircases dusty, and the bathrooms looked stained and as if they had gone weeks without cleaning. Bed linen was stained and smelled bad, and the towels were soiled. The water left visible mineral deposits on the taps and tiles, and there was no laundry service. The cook was often on leave, so breakfast and tea weren't available. If you need a GST bill, make that clear, or you may have to pay the GST yourself. Don't book online. There are newer properties nearby, and I was disappointed. Better to avoid this hotel.

The first room they gave us, on the third floor, wasn't clean, though the replacement on the first floor was decent. That room still had cockroaches and mosquitoes in the washroom. Staff were slow to help and not very supportive. Breakfast tasted excellent, but the portions felt rationed, and asking for more got us only a tiny extra serving. Our linen wasn't changed during the stay, and we had to request towels and soap every day.

The rooms were great, but the bathroom was gross. The lift and the rest of the hotel smelled like a dead rat and felt awful. When the receptionist called while I was out to ask about checkout, I asked for five minutes to confirm whether I'd stay. He said he wouldn't give me even a minute and that I'd have to tell them if I was staying or be charged extra. Really poor staff.

The hotel wasn't clean, and the service was terrible. There was no charging point, and the reception staff couldn't give a proper answer.
