Alsisar Haveli - A Heritage Hotel

The location is near pink city, although the surrounding area wasn’t pleasant. I liked the lovely architecture, and the green yard with its bar was a nice place for cocktails or a refreshing drink. Heaters meant we could sit outside on chilly January evenings after dinner. The charming rooms had high ceilings and paintings, and were spacious and comfortably warm in January. The restaurant dining hall looked fabulous, with beautiful ceilings and chandeliers, very aristocratic. Dinner came as a buffet or a la cart, and both were good, with very tasty food. Since most guests were tourists from Europe, USA, and Australia, staff were attentive to how spicy the food was. The spa was literally a room with a bed next to the pool. The massage was fine and very good value.

There are quite a lot of stairs, so keep that in mind if stairs are an issue. Still, the rooms were comfortable and the staff really attentive, especially the restaurant team. This little gem has beautiful architecture and a distinctive feel, quite different from a typical chain hotel. We had a nice stay and it felt like a different kind of experience.

We stayed for two days and didn’t have any problems. The staff were very helpful, and breakfast was superb, with a mix of veg and non veg food. It’s a great spot for a short staycation or a long weekend, and pretty much everything touristy is accessible from the hotel.

The building, pool, and grounds are beautiful, and the interior design was lovely. Our room had a slight musty smell, but that helped make up for it. Reception staff were welcoming, and the live musician was a highlight of our stay. Dining was a different experience. We’re two women in our late twenties, and the restaurant staff often seemed to ignore us, as if we were a nuisance. Other tables were greeted warmly and offered complimentary water, but we got neither. Once, while my friend was finishing her drink, a staff member stood right beside our table waiting to take the glass as soon as she finished. It felt uncomfortable. Seeing staff coughing and sniffling in the breakfast buffet room was off-putting too. The hotel itself is lovely, but we wouldn’t return to eat at the restaurant.
