Hotel Grand Harshal

The rooftop view is nice, but the party arrangements were a mess. I held an event there and the food and setup were both poor, and the staff seemed unconcerned. They also kept my 10,000 deposit after the party, even though they had promised to return it before I booked. The manager, Manish, was rude and didn't know how to deal with customers. I really regret relying on their arrangements. There's no zero-star option, because this was a pathetic experience.

The staff were polite, but they kept politely refusing requests, so that didn't help much when basic things were missing. There were no toiletries or hot water, and no proper way to make tea or coffee. They ordered tea from outside, and it arrived in a plastic bag. The place feels old, and at night I felt a bit uneasy because of odd noises from different places. Oyo has lost my trust in hotel bookings because it doesn't seem to check the quality of its hotels. This was the most annoying hotel I've stayed in.

We were comfortable during our three-day stay. The rooms were spacious, well kept, and the staff were courteous. The food was great, though the restaurant looked shabby, so we ate in our room. It's in an industrial area, a bit far from Jaipur's sights, but it's a good choice if you want to be away from the city bustle. They arranged a black Innova for sightseeing, but that driver pushed textile shops we didn't want to visit and then stopped following the itinerary when we objected. I hired a car myself for the next two days, and that driver was completely professional.

The rooms had a nice view, but that was the main plus. They smelled musty from poor ventilation, and the TV had the most basic DTH package. Staff also seemed unsure what to do on several occasions.
