Hotel Sagun

The main owner was friendly, and the place felt relatively safe for women traveling alone. It's close to the station too. But the rooms need repairs and aren't well maintained. The managers and other people running it were rude and lax, and facilities like the AC and TV seemed to exist in name only. Watch out for extra charges on room service and water bottles. For a short stay, there are better choices nearby.

The front desk staff seemed drunk when I checked in, and the room and bathroom were dirty. Several basics were missing: no soap, shampoo, or water bottle, and the lights didn't work while the taps leaked. The photos set expectations this place didn't meet. A complete mess, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The hotel's one clear advantage is its location directly opposite the railway station. Otherwise, I was very disappointed. The room was just too cramped for a family, and the extra bed for our child blocked the only walkway, leaving no room to move. Sheets smelled bad, there were bed bugs, and cleanliness was only so-so. We booked a Deluxe Triple Room through Agoda for three adults and one child, based on misleading online photos, and received an extra bed for the child. This might do for a couple of hours, or perhaps a short business trip or couples looking for cheap lodging, but I can't recommend it for families. We stayed in Oct 2024.

We stayed three nights, and the hotel is about five minutes from Jaipur railway station. Their food service was good, though the menu is vegetarian only. The electricity issue was awful. They cut the power completely after midnight, so we had to use our mobiles to call someone to turn on the generator. We were warned they'd cut it again overnight, along with the lift and telephone. I was lucky to have his number, since I had to call every time. I later realized they were deliberately cutting electricity daily to save on bills. For the high amount we paid, that was unacceptable. I think other guests will run into the same problem, so be aware before booking.
