The camp was awesome, with big beds and plenty of space, and the staff were cooperative and helpful. There was a wide choice for dinner and breakfast, and the evening snacks were delicious too. The folk dance and music could have been better, though. The setup itself was good, and all in all it was a great stay and a really good experience.

We started the experience riding camels at sunset, then stopped to take in the landscape before dinner. Afterward there were dances and music, which was a lovely way to appreciate the local culture. Snacks, food, water, and tea were provided, so the night felt warm and comfortable. We had breakfast the next morning and then went back to the city. My friend and I had an awesome time, and anyone coming to Jaisalmer should try it.

From the phone pressure and fake reviews to the dirty rooms, misleading pictures, and poor activities, this felt dishonest, unsafe, and badly managed. I wouldn’t recommend this camp. Please research your options and choose somewhere else. We booked a camp we found on Google called “Red Velvet,” but on arrival learned the camp wasn’t even called that. We were told to spend the first night at a hotel, then be taken to “Golden City Camping” the next morning. That first night, a man who may have been the hotel manager insisted on taking all our phones to “book us in” so he could get a bonus. We were uncomfortable handing over our devices and personal information. When we got to the camp the next day, it looked nothing like the online photos. The rooms were extremely dirty, smelled bad, and the toilets had black water. Tap water was brown and undrinkable, so we had to buy bottled water. The food was so poor that all of us got food poisoning. The same hotel man turned up at the camp later that day and again demanded our phones, this time to leave 5-star Google reviews himself. He was rude, aggressive, and persistent. We felt pressured and unsafe so far out in the desert, and reluctantly went along. The last 3 5-star reviews here are fake. The camel ride, ATV, and jeep package was misleading too. The so-called desert was a small patch of dunes beside a highway, with litter everywhere, not a real desert experience. We were told we had to pay extra for the ATV because “only one” was included, something that hadn’t been clearly explained when sold. Guests from other camps said they paid the same price but had better facilities and real dunes. Loud music started around 6-7 pm, then came a poorly organized show. The dancers didn’t seem to know the choreography, and the fire performer clearly didn’t want to be there. It all felt low effort. The singers were the only enjoyable part of the evening.

Red Velvet Desert Camp was a great experience. The staff handled everything very well, and the tents were comfortable and clean. The place felt peaceful, the food was good, and we enjoyed the cultural dance performance in the evening. A perfect desert stay in Jaisalmer.

Lakshman was welcoming and made us feel at home, taking care of every request without hesitation. The rooms were a good size, clean, and well maintained, which made the stay comfortable. The bedding could be washed better and feel fresher, but we still had a pleasant, enjoyable stay.
