Prithvi Palace

We booked their desert combo during peak season and got a private transfer into the desert plus a cultural experience at an affordable price. The hotel itself felt like a five-star stay, with lovely rooms, courteous staff, and operations that ran smoothly. Best hotel experience I’ve had, and I’d happily recommend staying here.

The location made it easy to get to the fort and the main attractions, and the hotel had a warm, welcoming feel. Our room was comfortable, clean, and well kept. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Mr. Fabu Tanwar, the manager, gave us especially thoughtful attention and made us feel very welcome. I had a wonderful stay at Tripli Hotels Prithvi Palace and would come back on my next visit to Jaisalmer.

The one bright spot was the front desk person, who was very gentle and went out of his way to help us have a better stay. The rooms themselves were in poor condition, with smelly washrooms, overflowing drains, misaligned toilet seats, and no bathroom bin, even after I asked. Staff were rude, power backup was inadequate, and the scrutiny before they let us have the included breakfast felt excessive. The photos on the Tripli website didn't give me a clear idea of the actual experience. In my opinion, this wasn't worth 5K, more like 2K.

The room was good, and the towels and blankets were okay, but the food service was the worst part. Lunch and dinner are outsourced, brought in and reheated in a small terrace kitchen, then served late. Things got mixed up and our food ended up cold. They take the full advance payment at check-in, so you don't have a choice about the food, only whether to stay. Also, the dining area is on the third-floor terrace and there's no lift, which is a big problem for senior citizens or anyone with health issues. Poorest service we've had in Rajasthan.
