The location is good, with well-known five-star hotels like Marriott and Taj next door, but that was about the only clear positive. We stayed at Rang Mahal Jaisalmer for three nights last week, and it fell far short of what you'd expect from a place claiming five-star status. We had an 8-month-old baby, but were put on the first floor in a building with no lift. Carrying the baby and luggage up and down the stairs over and over was very inconvenient, and the staff hadn't considered this basic need. The service was poor throughout. Breakfast had very little variety and was disappointing for a luxury hotel. Room service food was excessively oily and badly prepared, not even suitable for adults, let alone a family with an infant. They also charged prices you wouldn't expect even at a five-star hotel, for example 800₹ for a veg pulao. The one gesture we appreciated was that staff arranged khichdi for our baby when we asked. They were otherwise lacking in quality and attention to guest comfort, and that couldn't be made up for with one kind act. Room assignment, food, and hospitality all missed five-star standards. At best, it operates like a mid-range hotel relying on its location and past reputation. We wouldn't recommend Rang Mahal to families with young children or anyone expecting a real five-star experience.

The staff were attentive enough to remember little things we liked, and they made every meal feel special. We ate there three times, and the food was so good we overindulged each time. Each meal cost over ₹5,000, and we felt it was worth it. The chefs and manager came over personally to greet us and ask for feedback, which felt thoughtful. There was one mix-up: we were told the brownies were eggless, but they contained eggs. The team apologized right away, replaced them with complimentary banana cakes, and made one of our main courses complimentary as well. The next morning, they prepared eggless brownies specially for us. Our room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully looked after. It had a lovely view of the backyard, where cultural performances took place every evening, with folk songs, traditional dances, and a lively atmosphere. Everyone was incredibly sweet and welcoming. A wonderful stay, with warmth, hospitality, and amazing food. Highly, highly recommended! ✨🍴❤️

The pool and spa were spotless, quiet, and so relaxing. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and a real highlight, with every meal thoughtfully prepared. The hotel felt polished but still welcoming, balancing luxury with cozy comfort. From arrival, the staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, and we felt well looked after the whole time. A lovely place to unwind. We'd happily return. Highly recommended! ✨

I stayed for six days in Feb 2026. It's a beautiful property, and I tried both deluxe and super deluxe rooms. I preferred the deluxe one because it was bigger and got direct sunlight. Nitin ji arranged a neat, clean cab for sightseeing with our requirements in mind. I also asked him for contact details for a stargazing company, and he helped with that. At dinner, we found a hair in our sabzi, told the staff, and they replaced it. One thing made us uncomfortable: while we were out sightseeing, staff came in and cleaned my room without being asked. I'd been told they only clean when guests request it. Our things were scattered, with bags open and belongings on the bed, so it felt unsafe to have someone enter. I told reception, and after that they advised me to put the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the doorknob before leaving. I also told the desk not to have the room cleaned. It didn't happen again. The dinner staff remembered how much spice we liked and kept preparing our food that way throughout the stay. It was sweet that they remembered those little details. There's also a shop in the hotel selling handmade wooden camels and elephants, miniature paintings, bags, clothes, and other things. MUST VISIT.

The venue has plenty of character and was clean and comfortable. It's close to the main attractions, markets, and local eateries, so it's easy to get around. The staff were warm and welcoming, and went out of their way to make us feel at home. A lovely blend of tradition and hospitality. Highly recommend!
