Hotel High Pointe

The washroom was filthy, and the geyser wasn’t working. When I asked about getting it fixed, they told me it was fine and just like that. Room service was below expectations, too. The reception staff behaved very badly and didn’t know how to speak to or treat guests. My experience was awful, and I wouldn’t book this hotel. I think it’s the worst in Jodhpur.

We booked four rooms for guests who stayed last week. Each could fit four people, and the price was under 2k per room. The rooms were spacious and fairly priced, and the hotel is centrally located. Service was neither great nor terrible. The owner talks a lot and shouts at hotel employees.

The place is dirty, and room service isn’t regularly available. I’d stayed here three times before, but on my latest visit they charged me an extra 1000 rupees. I only noticed after I got home and called to ask for the money back. They admitted the mistake but said they couldn’t refund it, and that I could do whatever I wanted. After that, I felt they were cheats, even though I’d booked with them three times. That’s no way to treat guests, and it doesn’t reflect the hospitality industry or Jodhpur.

The few decent things happened before evening: the staff helped us until then, gave us a secure locker room for our luggage after checkout, and let us use their restaurant for a cake cutting. But the stay was awful. We changed rooms three times, and the staff were rude and unprofessional, constantly chasing money and completely drunk after evening. The hotel is on the fifth floor. Rooms were damaged and stinging, with broken switches, barely any light, no geysers in some rooms, cigarette remains in the AC, and sheets they apparently didn’t change between guests. The stinging blankets and pigeons kept us awake. Bathrooms were worse than public toilets, filthy and full of infections, with broken WCs and washbasins, no towels or hangers, and barely any bucket space. In rooms with a geyser, it was so small it could hardly fill two mugs of hot water in an hour. There was no soap or hot water, and drinking water cost extra. The place felt like a dump yard, with hundreds of empty plastic and alcohol bottles lying around. Guests smoked and drank with their room doors open, so I wouldn’t recommend it for women travelling alone.
