Krishna Prakash Heritage Haveli

We stayed at Krishna Prakash Heritage Haveli for the Spirit Festival at Mehrangarh Fort, and being just steps from the fort made it easy to get to the performances without worrying about transport or a long walk back late at night. After the music and celebrations, the haveli felt peaceful. The rooftop restaurant had breathtaking views of the fort above the blue city, especially at sunrise and sunset. We enjoyed traditional food there, prepared with care. The building itself feels like living history, with traditional Rajasthani architecture, detailed carvings, and sunny courtyards. It was warm and welcoming throughout. The staff were kind, attentive, and clearly cared about making guests feel at home. They added a lot to our festival experience. We left with lovely memories and would love to return. The Spirit Festival stay felt full of culture, comfort, and soul.

The hotel manager helped us find fair taxi prices and markets with good quality goods that don’t target tourists. We also got tips for great chai, samosas, and sweets, which all proved exceptional. My family had three wonderful nights at Krishna Prakesh Heritage Haveli. The staff had everything ready for our comfort, safety, and sightseeing. We arrived around lunchtime and had an extraordinary meal of local curries, roti, and sauces on the rooftop terrace, with a direct view up to the Fort. A guide named Ali was arranged for us. He spoke passionately about his hometown and shared recommendations. We met him each day and learned new things about Jodhpur every time. Our room was spacious and well appointed, with a great bathroom, and we slept very well. We also ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. The food was tasty, and they could make the Rajasthani dishes mild for my wife and daughter. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. I really hope I can return to India and stay here again.

The staff made us feel looked after. The uncle at reception and another staff member helped us plan our day, suggested fair prices, warned us about tourist scams and less pleasant areas, and even arranged cabs. They were genuinely helpful, not just polite. The location is fantastic, with an amazing view of Mehrangarh Fort that I could sit and look at for ages. The property has an old-world feel while still being comfortable. I had a really good stay and would recommend it.

For 4600 rupees a night, I expected more, especially with a late evening check-in and checkout at 10 AM. I booked offline and they still insisted on that checkout time. Online booking may get you a discount. The facilities felt like something available at a two-star hotel for half the price. Breakfast had only five or six choices, while expensive hotels normally have buffets with 20-25 items. There were lots of stairs, which felt risky with kids. The rooms were average, with no proper ventilation in the room or bathroom, no proper almirah, and no bathroom slippers. They’re old style, so don’t be taken in by words like vintage. There was no Wi-Fi either. Foreign tourists were staying there, and I felt they didn’t care much about Indian tourists. Some sites say Mehrangarh Fort is within walking distance, but don’t be misled: the actual distance is around 6 km. I was heartily disappointed.
