Sant Kripa Backpackers Hostel

The shared bathroom and washroom were moderately clean. I only stayed for a few hours before a night train, so I didn't push the issue about the beds, but the visit was frustrating. I found the place on booking dot com and went to check it out first. Getting there with luggage took around 7-800mtr, not the 400mtr stated. The reception guy came across as a hippie boy, and it felt like booking a Taj with him. I asked for two beds and he agreed to the online prices, but after I paid he said no lower bed was available, even though another room was empty with more than 8-10 lower beds. It felt like a waste of a long walk from the station, since there are better options nearby.

We booked a room and paid an advance, but were told at 1:00 PM that it wasn't ready and check-in would be at 5:00 PM. We left our luggage and came back at 5:30 PM, only to learn that our booked room wasn't available and we'd have to take a different one. When we refused and chose to stay elsewhere, the staff were rude and unprofessional. We lost almost 4-5 hours because of the mismanagement, and they shouted at us and accused us of not cooperating instead of taking responsibility. The entire property smelled bad too. Pathetic experience, with very disappointing service, poor hygiene, and unacceptable treatment. I wouldn't recommend it.

The dormitory costs ₹350 and has a locker, clean bed, lamp, fan, and socket for each bed. There is AC, but no ventilation or lighting. The washrooms are okay, though there's only one geyser. It's a bit tucked away on the 2nd floor off the main road near MG hospital. Food is available at Jalori circle.

Mohan bhaiya knows the area well, and the location and service are both great. I felt safe as a woman staying here. The blankets could be better, but everything else was superb and safe. It's a great place to stay.
