We took a private small boat cruise on the backwater, and the hotel arranged both the boat and transport. The sunset was amazing, a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we felt very well cared for. Since the boat was small, it could reach places bigger boats couldn't, but it still had room for more people and a roof for shade. The spa was the star for us: the team was professional and the treatments were reasonably priced. We'd come back in a heartbeat. We also loved the engaging staff and picturesque property beside the inlet. We ordered meals a few times and enjoyed them, and rode the free bikes to a local beachside restaurant a couple of times. The rooms have an old-school feel and a great vibe. We kept taking portraits in the upstairs hallway by the windows. The pool was just right for cooling off, and we used the free canoes to get to the ocean. At the beach, there was hotel-branded seating and cover.

Canoeing through the short backwater canal to the beach was the best part. The pool was good, though a little small, and the rooms had a nice traditional Kerala charm. It's a good spot for a weekend stay. I wish there had been play amenities for small kids too. The price seemed a bit high, though it was peak season.

A lovely place to slow down and enjoy the calm coastal feel. The sea view was breathtaking, and the pool area was clean and relaxing. Staff were friendly and very helpful during our wonderful stay at this beachside pool resort near Mararikulam. Highly recommended!

The restaurant was excellent, and the whole place had a homely feel, with incredibly friendly, helpful staff. Sharun and Ashwin took especially good care of us and answered all our questions. The location was breathtaking: Flamingo Marari has a quiet, elegant pool area and a grass lawn looking right onto the canal. The ample golden beach is only a short paddle away, and going there around sunset felt stunning and almost otherworldly. This was the most relaxing stay of my whole Kerala trip. 100% recommended!

The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable, though the ones away from the road are best since it can be a little noisy. There are free boats for kayaking down to the private beach, about five minutes away, which is fun. The restaurant is fantastic, with a lovely space, friendly staff, a wide-ranging menu, and delicious beer. Shauran went out of his way to help us. We loved the great value, relaxed atmosphere, and personal service, and would highly recommend this small, comfortable, characterful hotel near the beautiful, very chill Marari Beach.
