SPOT ON 40760 Sangamam Tourist Home

We came to Kannur for a friend’s wedding and ended up at this horrible hotel. The rooms were filthy and smelled bad, and the bathrooms and stairs were in a terrible state. The staff were creepy and very unprofessional, as if they’d never seen people. They need to learn hospitality. The photos on the website look nothing like the actual rooms, so don’t trust them. I can’t understand the 4-5 star ratings, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

The photos on OYO didn’t match the room at all, not even close. There were broken tiles, dust, and cobwebs, and customer service was very poor. We cancelled, but they wouldn’t give us a refund. The person at the front desk was rude.

The room stank, was dusty, and had almost no space. You’d feel suffocated, with practically no room to move in the bathroom. There was no privacy, one window was permanently broken, and mosquitoes were around 24*7. I paid around 600 bucks, saw the place, and left almost immediately. Not couple friendly. I went to a nearby hotel called THE HAVEN INN, which was pretty neat and had adequate furnishings. If you’re in KANNUR and can’t find decent accommodation, try this. It worked for me, a friendly and decent stay for a single guy.

Our group had this room booked through OYO by a friend for a function. We got room 303, and the toilet was disgusting. A public restroom is far better maintained. The rooms were shabby and foul smelling, and the whole building was poorly maintained. One staff member even made judgemental comments about the religion of one of us. The images they posted are fake and don’t reflect how miserable the place really is. I’d trusted OYO blindly for two years and it had never let me down before this. I’d tell people to double check rooms before booking. I’d never recommend staying here.
