Treebo China Town

The room was good and the food very good, but service was slow. My check-in, though, was a frustrating experience. The app said check-in from 10 AM to 12 PM was complimentary, yet when I arrived at 10:15 AM they wanted an extra charge. I waited until 11 AM, and they gave me a room at 11:25 AM. There were vacant rooms, but they still said I had to pay to check in before noon. If OYO can't offer that facility, it shouldn't be listed in the app. That's why I'm giving the hotel 4 stars.

The stairway from the entrance up to reception on the first floor was my one concern. It's very steep and has no handrails. We're senior citizens, and my 62-year-old wife has a knee problem, so she had to crawl up and down each day. Extending the lift to the ground floor would help; at minimum, handrails would give older guests support. Otherwise, our stay was very pleasant. The rooms and bathroom were clean, and all the electrical outlets and bathroom fittings worked. Prince at the front desk was especially warm and helpful. Housekeeping, including Govind (if I have the name right), was prompt, as was room service.

It's in a busy area, close to the market, and the location is very good. The rooms were a letdown, though: poorly maintained and a bit shady-looking, with broken bathroom locks and unclean sheets. Room service was up to the mark, but staff could be a bit rude. They'll stare at you for two minutes, then remember what they were supposed to do. 🤣

At 4 AM, finding out there was no elevator left me stunned. I'd booked through the OYO call center and specifically asked for a hotel with one, but the representatives misled me.
