Hotel Brownhills

The location wasn't great, since it's near the bus station and the bus horns were very loud. Still, the hotel was good and reasonably priced. We stayed with family and had nice, large rooms, good food, and an amazing rooftop. All the staff were polite and well mannered.

The room was fairly priced, neat, and clean, and so was the washroom. We could see the river and market from the room, and there were good local eateries nearby. I'd recommend it for an overnight stop if you're splitting the Srinagar to Leh journey.

An okay place to stay overnight when breaking up the bus journey between Leh and Srinagar. It's a few minutes' walk from the bus stand, and our room was clean with a hot water shower. Communication in English was a little difficult, especially with the rooftop restaurant staff and the early-morning reception staff. We were checking out at 4:00 am for the bus, but ran into some friction with staff who seemed suspicious. It took them a while to understand we'd already paid and had also told the day staff we were leaving early.

The manager was very nice and accommodating right up to when we left. We had trouble with our bikes, and he recommended a mechanic without expecting extra money from us. The rooms were clean and had hot water. The only issue was that WiFi was strong only in the corridor. I'd definitely recommend this place to bikers on the Leh Srinagar Highway.
