Oyo 17006 Hotel Girnar

The décor was lovely, and the staff were attentive and soft-spoken. The hotel is small, with only a limited number of rooms, but the food was delicious. We came while visiting Veshno Devi temple. I wanted to give it four stars, but some unprofessional handling let us down. Breakfast was supposed to be free with our booking, and they only provided it after we asked them to check. Our room also wasn’t cleaned well. Those small lapses were disappointing, so I’m giving three stars.

We’d told them ahead of time that we wanted an early check-in, but they said it could only be paid for at the counter, not through oyo. Since we’d already paid online via oyo, they refused to give us a room when we arrived, claiming none were available. That didn’t seem true: while we waited in the lounge, other people came looking for rooms and were booked and given rooms on the spot. It was ridiculous. Why register on oyo if you don’t want its customers? After we asked again, they let us use a room for just 30 minutes to freshen up and charged extra for early check-in. I personally didn’t like the hotel manager’s behavior.

They don’t serve food, which is the only downside. There’s a small dhaba beside the hotel for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and the food there is good. Service, cleanliness, and the staff’s response were all good.

The hotel is an easy walk from the Railway Station, and the building itself is good. But even after I complained, staff didn’t respond to the lack of clean linen or bathroom cleaning. The food was just good. An average hotel at a low rate.
