OYO 71299 Sophia Inn

This used to be a very old boys' hostel, and it’s now been turned into a lodge.

jebaraj is a great person, and the parking is good. The rates are reasonable, and there’s plenty nearby, including the expressway, places to eat, a theater complex, and a mall, all just 10 Mts away. Cape comrin is 20 kms away. It started in 1984 and could be a fine place if it were redeveloped.

The staff and service are quite good, and I had a nice stay in a nice room. There are nice views from the corridors, frequent buses to nearby places, and shops nearby too. The hotel is close to the bus tops. There were power cuts and water problems, possibly because of the summer. AC rooms start at 1000. Overall, it’s a good place to stay.

The one good thing is the car parking. Everything else about the stay was awful. Nothing was clean: pillow covers, bathrooms, towels, mattresses, you name it. Insects, lizards, and other creatures kept coming into the room, and even the chairs in the waiting area were broken. The manager talked and talked whenever we raised an issue but offered no solution, to the point where dealing with the problem seemed easier than speaking to him. It’s a nightmare of a place, and there are cheaper, cleaner places nearby. I’d never stay here again.
