Hotel Surya

The temple is an easy walk away, which is great, but our standard room was awful. It opened straight onto the corridor on the ground floor, so it was noisy even at night. There were no windows, and a cockroach showed up. I had to kill it and hide it before my wife started screaming. The bathroom had no ventilation of its own. The exhaust fan in the room pulled air from there, so the bathroom's gutter smell came into the room and then went out through the fan. We had to spray perfume before we could sleep. Maybe the other rooms are better, but the owner should consider taking these rooms off the listing so others don't have the same bad experience.

The stay itself was nice, but I booked by phone for 1100 and was charged 1400 per room. They said it was because the room had A/C. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The owner apologized the next day for the staff, but by then the damage was done. We were four senior citizens and were literally driven out of the dining hall to make space for a large group of yatris who had just arrived. We had to go out into the dark and look for food somewhere we didn't know. Luckily, we found Lala Rasoi nearby. The hotel itself is good, reasonably priced, and close to the main temple complex. The rooms are good, with a huge garden view and approach. I'd recommend staying only if the rude, impolite, badtamiz staff are replaced.

We had a warm, professional welcome, and the staff were charming. The managers were especially helpful in arranging the next part of our trip. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the hotel was quiet, with a lovely garden that was clearly well cared for. We enjoyed the delicious food at the restaurant.
