The location is convenient, just two minutes from City Center 1 and beside 6 Ballygunge Place restaurant. The staff and front office team were very helpful, and the room was clean, so for the price I found it a decent choice for a short stay. The room itself feels a bit claustrophobic and isn’t spacious enough for more than two people. The washroom is small, has no exhaust fan, lacks a proper spot for soap and shampoo, and the taps and faucets aren’t well maintained. Breakfast has to be ordered separately, and the complimentary option may not suit everyone’s taste, though there is a restaurant and bar on site. I’d order à la carte instead. Fab brands should look into their properties with a knowledgeable marketing team. These days they seem to co-brand without adding professional service, which leaves guests with the wrong expectations. Photoshopped property pictures won’t work for long.

The rooms are cramped, the sheets weren’t clean, and the bathroom was horrible. There’s no buffet breakfast. They served one boiled egg, tea, and upma from a local vendor. Don’t get lured by the nice pictures.

For the price, I found the rooms comfortable and well kept, though they’re simple. The staff were polite and helpful whenever I needed something. There aren’t luxury facilities, but it has the essentials for a pleasant, affordable stay. The location in Kolkata is hard to beat, so it’s a sensible option if you’re watching your budget.

The elevator is an old grill type and smells bad, while the room and bathroom doors are filthy and broken. The bathroom fixtures are junk and very low quality. The place is terribly outdated, and the staff seem barely to be trying to improve it, without much success. Fabhotels shouldn’t have gross properties like this with such poor quality and missing basic amenities. Spend a little more and stay at De Sovrani instead.
