The main drawback for me was the toilet. It was a really bad experience, with bugs, and it wasn't good enough if you want something like a proper home bathroom. The service was somewhere in the middle, neither especially good nor especially bad. After midnight you can still come back, but you have to keep calling “Bhola Dada!” so someone will open the main gate. It's near New Market, Kolkata, and could work if you're on a tight budget and only need a very cheap place to sleep. Don't expect a luxurious look. I wouldn't recommend it otherwise.

Room 121 was spacious, with a nice interior, and the large bathroom was especially good. It was very neat and clean. The staff were good and cooperative too. The one flaw was water leaking from the AC, though it was working.

The building is damp, and even the bed feels wet. Cleanliness needs work, and the owner should consider refurbishing the place. I've stayed here several times because the rates are affordable and it's very close to New market. It's a budget hotel, but try negotiating for a lower price or they may try to charge you more. Lots of Bangladeshi stays here.

It's a bit cheaper than the other hotels and guest houses around the Park Street area, and the location is convenient, close to New Market, the museum, and Park Street metro station. But the rooms are really small, the washroom doesn't fully work, and the room service was very bad. They didn't even have fresh bedsheets for us. If a low price is your priority and you don't mind the hotel's condition, you could stay here. Otherwise, there are plenty of better options nearby.

The location was great and the staff were nice, but the stay itself was pretty terrible. Our room had no window, and the ceiling fan had just two settings: off or spinning so fast we worried it might fall. We kept getting up during the night to switch it.
