Hotel Sudesh Tower

We were moved from one building to another, and food was left in the small lobby for over 24 hours until it smelled awful. For a room costing 3000/- plus GST, there wasn't even a refrigerator. I asked housekeeping, but still didn't get one, and in Kolkata's heat my infant's baby food spoiled. Traveling with my elderly parents, one of them recovering from brain tumor surgery, I expected basic care. Instead, my father had to wait a long time while Miss.Arpita checked his identity card, then she refused his driving license as proof, saying the manager had rejected it. Her manner was very rude and left my parents and me feeling insulted. I'm a Welfare officer, Govt of India and a Lawyer too, and I also work in the hotel business, but none of that should be needed to receive basic courtesy. The restaurant staff and their service were good. Most of the other staff, though, didn't know how to speak to guests. The shampoo, body wash, and hand wash were nothing like their descriptions, and the hand wash was just water with no foam. I tried several times to meet the Director / Owner, but staff kept avoiding or resisting the request. It felt as if management wanted payment and positive reviews, not complaints. Guests traveling with elderly people, patients, or infants need some extra care, but we didn't even get basic facilities. The stay was a nightmare. I'd suggest hiring polite staff who understand basic hotel rules.
