I stayed here while getting treatment at RN TAGORE HOSPITAL (NARAYANA HOSPITALS), and it was disgusting. The rooms and bedsheets were dirty. I asked the service staff to change the sheets, but they refused and said they were clean. After one night, three of the four people in our two booked rooms had skin infections, with rashes and itching all over. Patients should avoid this shitty place.
I'd booked this hotel after a local colleague recommended it and I saw the positive reviews online. The location is on the outskirts, in a residential area. Some may like the quiet or find it useful for work, so I'd call that a 50/50. The rooms are really cramped, and the toilet is even tighter, maybe three feet wide. Reception had no dedicated staff, just a few boys multitasking. I got an extremely unwelcoming, uninterested staff member, a slim boy with no sense of hospitality. He tossed my ID on the table, didn't show me to my room, and didn't even say hi. My fried rice took an hour and a half to arrive, so I left and moved to another hotel. I wouldn't recommend this for families or ladies. Maybe it could suit a solo man on a tight budget.
The staff were kind and well-mannered, especially Shayon, Emdadul and Shubodh Dada. This was my fourth visit, and I’ll be back again. The whole boutique hotel feels calm and uncluttered, and the shared areas are inviting. My room was bright and neatly arranged, with spotless floors and a sparkling bathroom. Everything looked fresh and carefully maintained, and housekeeping clearly puts a lot of care into cleanliness. A hidden gem in Mukundapur, Kolkata, and a reassuring choice for a business or leisure stay.
We paid in full for five nights, but left just two hours after arriving and moved to a better hotel in a better location. It wasn’t worth the cost or hassle. The room entrance was very cramped, and the tiny rooms didn’t match the pictures online. Reception was unattended, with no bell or other way to get someone’s attention. We waited nearly 15 minutes with a simple question, but staff were absent or uninterested. The rooms are on the same floor as reception, giving the impression that one large hall had been split up and called a hotel. There was no restaurant or even drinking water, and the whole place felt unprofessional and unwelcoming. Staff seemed unavailable and inattentive, even with new guests arriving.
We expected breakfast to be included, but it was charged separately, and the quality wasn’t good.
