Metropole

The bathroom water kept clogging, and the room faced the main road, so traffic noise carried on all night and made sleep impossible. The window lock was broken as well. During my two-day stay, there was no housekeeping, not even a refill of the water bottles. For two guests, we got one towel, and toiletries were barely provided. The whole place smelled bad, from reception through to the room. The mattress was misshapen and smelly, and caused severe back pain and sleepless nights. Bedsheets were torn, dirty, and clearly unwashed, and the white fabric no longer looked white. The dusty, smelly pillows seemed expired. The foul odor, dust, poor hygiene, and awful sleeping setup left me ill with body aches. This was far below basic hospitality standards. Not recommended at all.

We had a wonderful, homely stay at metropolis, and I’m sure I’ll come back next year. Thanks for the hospitality and the lovely memories. The staff were very cooperative and helpful. I was travelling with kids, though, and think the rooms need renovation and proper kitchen and restaurant service. Best wishes to everyone!

The renovated room was nice, and the surroundings were quiet and cozy. Reception was very helpful. We had a nice stay.

The room was reasonably clean and neat, but the property feels old, and the furnishings and decor could use an update. The washroom was the main problem: the basin looked barely fixed to the wall, as if it might come off, which made it uncomfortable to use. There’s no restaurant in the hotel, so getting a quick bite or late-night food was inconvenient. My stay at the Metropole Hotel was average, not terrible, but the place needs maintenance and improvements for a more comfortable visit.
