OYO 11896 Marble Palace Guest House

The red oxide floor helps keep the room cool, and so does the ceiling, which is about 15 feet high. It was built by British, and the place stays cooler in hot, humid weather. It’s a nice, very cool place. If I visit kolkata again, I’d like to stay there again 👍👍🏼

This building was built before independence, and Gani Khan Chowdhury and his family own it. The rooms are big, though the road outside is dirty.

I booked through the Oyo app and was supposed to pay the listed tariff. They said Oyo cheats them and demanded double the price if I wanted the room, so with no other option I paid twice as much. The service was pathetic, and when we were leaving, they demanded tips for services they never provided. They also said the property belongs to a politician and nobody can do anything. They wanted another 500 on top of the doubled price if I wanted to continue. They don’t care about customer satisfaction or the problems guests face, just the money. This was my worst experience with Oyo rooms.

Guys, this would be a horrible choice. The things they say about the hotel are false. They spent half an hour checking our IDs, then told us we couldn’t stay. It’s a third-class place. Never go there.
