The verandah looks out onto a heap of rubbish: broken bamboo, empty alcohol bottles, cement blocks, pigeon droppings, and more. Inside, the room was filthy too. The sheets and blankets had whitish stains, the floor was sticky, and the wardrobe doors were hanging off their hinges. The AC didn't work because its electrical connection had been cut, and neither the TV nor the bedside night light worked. The room phone had no dial tone. Food at the in-house restaurant costs much more than at nearby places. I've stayed at quite a few OYO hotels, and this was one of the worst. I wouldn't book it, and I hope OYO looks into it soon.

The place was close to where I needed to go, just a stone's throw away, so the reason I booked it was taken care of and the work went well. I had planned to stay longer but checked out a day early. As someone who works in hospitality, I hope the owner and operations team will take a look at how the industry is changing and improve the apartment step by step. Dusting, hygiene, and cleanliness all need a lot of work, and the overall stay should feel healthier. The team also needs better guidance. Booking sites should clearly state any extra charges, for example, 1500/- per day for AC or 1000/- per day for a geyser, so guests can work out the full cost before booking. I hope this place makes changes and does well.

For the non-AC room, the place was unhygienic, with dirty sheets, pillows, towels, toilet, and bathroom. The staff were rude, there was no room service, and the restaurant was expensive for food that was only average. Pathetic, don't waste your money.

I loved the Masala Dosa with Special Coconut Chutney, which I'd recommend trying if you visit. The little hotel and restaurant feels more like a family dinner than a restaurant, and the welcoming staff make you feel at home. It has been serving good food for over 30 years. The flavors bring together traditional South Indian tastes with something distinctively Bengali. It may even have been the first restaurant I ever visited.
