The Lake Hotel

This is a budget-friendly hotel. I’d ask the hotelier to switch the shaving kits and combs from plastic to bamboo. They’re available at a reasonable price, and making that change could help reduce plastic pollution in the city. Let’s beat plastic pollution together!

The room was filthy, and the dust made it feel unhealthy and unsafe. The ceiling fan sent dust flying around when switched on, and the floor mat was covered in it too. The whole hotel seemed neglected, with no basic cleanliness or hygiene. It felt as if the room hadn’t been cleaned for weeks, perhaps even months. My friend from Austria was sent here from Hotel Plaza and ended up having to stay at midnight. What we found was shocking. Being made to stay in such a place so late at night felt cruel. For a hotel charging guests, this level of neglect is unacceptable. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I strongly warn people not to stay here. Save your money, health, and dignity. This place is a disaster.

The sheets and covers were stained all over. I reported it that evening, but nothing was done. The tea kits in the room had already been opened; housekeeping took them away after I complained, but didn’t replace them. The male receptionist on duty later at night was much better. The woman at reception that evening, on 14/02/2026, behaved very unpleasantly. Taking down a guest’s identity and mobile number in the register seemed to take an intentionally long time.

For a budget stay in the south, this was a good experience. The location is great, and the staff were friendly, especially Manish.
