The room we received at The Xen Suites was shabby and didn't match the photos or descriptions on the booking site, which had suggested spacious rooms with proper amenities. Towels and basic toiletries were missing at first, despite listings on some booking sites. We asked repeatedly and got excuses before finally having to fight to get towels. The room wasn't properly cleaned, and hygiene fell far below an acceptable standard. Other guests have reportedly described dirty bathrooms and sheets and missing towels too. Staff ignored basic requests and showed little accountability, which made an already stressful stay worse. I felt cheated because what I paid for wasn't delivered. I've also seen other online complaints about confusing communication and booking problems. The website promises comfortable amenities, but my experience was the worst hotel stay of my life. Don't book expecting the online photos to reflect reality. The missing basics and poor service made the stay feel far below standard. If you're visiting Kolkata, choose somewhere more trustworthy with verified positive reviews. I wish I could give zero stars.

I booked expecting the clean, comfortable stay promised online, but the property was unhygienic and poorly maintained. There was dampness and seepage in the room, and the bathroom tap kept leaking. The pillow and bedsheet had obvious stains and marks, and the overall cleanliness was below even basic expectations. Someone was sent to fix it, then disappeared without coming back. I asked five times during the day for Wi-Fi and kept hearing excuses. They didn't seem to have a password at all. Management stopped answering calls after payment, and even room requests paid for in advance were ignored. The excuses felt careless, with no real responsibility from staff. Avoid this place if you value your money, time, and peace of mind.

For what I paid, I could have stayed somewhere decent, but instead the room smelled moldy, was filthy, and had sheets that looked unwashed for weeks. Hair covered the bathroom floor, and the shower barely worked. The AC was broken, and outside noise made sleeping impossible. Staff were rude and unhelpful, answering every request with attitude.
